Whale Wars!

Sea Sheperd is a conservation society that is committed to saving ocean life by using direct action such as dismantling whaling ships at harbor, ramming into ships in the ocean, cutting loose nets that were intended to strangle animals, etc. If you don’t know, now ya know. LUSH has made a huge contribution to Sea Sheperd through Charity Pot sales and two campaigns (Save The Seals in Canada and Shark Finning in the UK), so we were given a private tour of the glorious ship!

Check out where all the action happens- they even have tubes (like the tin can with strings you used when you were a kid) to communicate through if the power goes down!

If you are interested in volunteering or donating money, please visit the website! And if you want to see Sea Sheperd in action, check out the new season of Whale Wars on the Animal Planet starting June 4th.

After work, a co-worker and I got to attend “A Night For The Oceans” fundraiser for Sea Sheperd. Paul Watson, the founder of the organization, gave an inspiring presentation about the importance of their missions. Good thing he was in NYC- Japan JUST issued a warrant for his arrest!

Both veggies, we were thrilled to sample all the vegan appitizers and treats! We were eyeing the desert table all night, check out these cute whale Vegan cookies.
